Bargaining Bulletin #33
Sunday April 5, 2009

The Bargaining Committee is working on proposals as we await responses from the company on our outstanding questions. We have told the company we stand ready to meet with them when they are ready to have meaningful dialogue on OUR issues. This Corporation needs to bargain in good faith without preconditions on ideological issues such as “Consumer Based Health Care.” We believe we can come to an agreement that addresses our concerns as well as the company’s. The Company is spending a lot of money on “Work Stoppage” preparation, for now we are in “Strike Standby” mode. Our members are still on the payroll while we work without a contract. All working conditions remain unchanged. A strike may be called at any time of our choosing without prior notice to the company.
We encourage all members to work safely and with the highest possible standards of quality. We want you to comply with all rules and procedures the Company has ever taught you – if they conflict, stop and notify a manager of the conflict so that it may be resolved. Ensure all tools, equipment, furniture, and materials are ergonomically proper, safe, and in proper condition before use. Additionally, ensure all plant and equipment complies with every safety, quality, and regulatory rule. Make certain that vehicles are properly maintained, inspected and safe. Meanwhile, our bargaining committee will continue to bargain and our members will stay on the job – but it will not be business as usual! NO DAYS TO GO! THE CONTRACT HAS EXPIRED!
